Cannes sapphire blue sea with its immaculate yachts, its shores lined with tall palm trees, its great luxury brand names on the Croisette avenue. Yet, nothing of Provence is lost: under a generous sunshine, the little markets filled with the fragrance of flowers and fruit delight those who enjoy walking amidst jasmine and oleander. At the table too, you can savour the unadulterated tradition of restaurants, where you enjoy fresh fish served with olive oil, ripened in the warm Mediterranean hinterland.

The Hotel Majestic Barrière, with a décor inspired by the greatest cinema hits and the stars it has accommodated and still accommodates, boasts a cinema theater (3D) right in its midst. French dinner at the Fouquet’s, with its menu drawn up with the assistance of Pierre Gagnaire or champagne, cocktails to the music of DJ on the beach, small mythical stuffed dishes from “la Petite Maison de Nicole” - the possibilities are endless. The private beaches of the Hotel Majestic Barrière, as well as those of the Hotel Gray d’Albion, are also venues for the summer festivities. The unique Spa my Blend by Clarins offer marvelous beauty care in its luxurious setting. You are not very far either from thrilling gambling, with two casinos, the “Les Princes” Casino Barrière and the Cannes Croisette Casino Barrière, with all kinds of slot machines and table games, La Plage spreading over 3000 m² (32,000 ft²).

In the heart of the French Riviera, the Hotel Majestic Barrière, decorated by Pascal Desprez, is ideally situated on the Croisette avenue in Cannes. This mythical Art Deco Palace rises proudly in front of the Mediterranean Sea, just a stone’s throw from the “Palais des Festivals”, whose red-carpeted stairs stars climb each year. The “Festival de Cannes” Hotel has a contemporary style, while retaining its natural elegance, living up to its 5 star reputation. It boasts 2 unique penthouses on the 6th and 7th floor of the hotel.

The 450m² (4,800 ft²) Christian Dior Suite has been decorated in the 30 avenue Montaigne style, the historical Parisian Designer’s boutique. The Majestic suite on the top floor, a luxurious and spacious jewel box has a panoramic terrace and a private pool on the roof, offering one of the world’s nicest views on the Cannes bay and the “Palais des Festivals” stairs. A private butler’s services are exclusively devoted to the occupiers of these suites. François André, the founder of the Group turned the hotel into the epicenter of his empire by thrusting it into the media limelight. In 1927, in partnership with plane builder Louis Breguet, he made a bet of handing out to his foreign clients on the Croisette daily issues of The Times and the Daily Telegraph, fresh from the morning London press. There was not any Nice airport at the time.

François André had a hydroplane chartered to pick up the newspapers in Marseille-Marignane. A few hours later the plane landed in the Cannes bay and about 7:00 pm, cheered by a great many British people on holiday, the Times and The Daily papers were handed out. Lucien Barrière and Diane Barrière-Desseigne’s dream of seeing two wings added to the building was achieved by Dominique Desseigne, after 3 years’ work, in 2010.
